Cronus vs. Tempest II Magnum

Would a Rogue Audio Tempest II Magnum, (Used as a demo in a store) be a better choice than a brand new Cronus? The asked price for the Tempest is equivalent to $450 less, than the new Cronus. Warranty will be as of a new amp.
I'll have to purchase an RIAA preamp, though.

I am tempted, to get a $4600 amp for $2300, when the asked price for the Cronus is $2750 in my currency.

I haven't heard a Tempest in person... but I HAVE, extensively, heard the Stereo 90 power amp, which is what the Tempest output amp is based on.

Simply- it's one of the best-sounding amps I've heard, ever- PERIOD.

If they're going to warranty it as new, I'd say why not? I'd be all over that!

Mind you- the Cronus is a very good sounding amp- but the Stereo 90 just has a SPEED that exceeds the Cronus. It's just a little bit more dynamic...
