Is there any difference between EM84A and EM84?

I am very new to tube gear...got my first one...Fisher 400 through a trade here on AK and love it!
My wife and I listen to records through it almost every evening.

Just looking to better understand the tubes it uses and maybe try and find some spares...but I notice that while my user manual says E84A, some tube source sites have numbers instead of letters to look up tubes.

6FG6 is the American designation for that tube. Any of the 3; EM84, EM84A, or 6FG6 should work just fine.

There is also an abundence of the Russian equivilant (of which I have used with no problems), the 6E3P.:thmbsp:
