Hail,
I found Sirius radio equipped on my new truck. I tried it out and really like it. It will not replace standard AM and FM listening, but, there sure are a lot of nice stations there. Anyways, I am interested in getting set up inside the house with Sirius. I am baffled by all of the gizmo looking units on the Sirius site and Ebay. None seem to have a speaker, nor an antenna. Ideally I would like to find something under a hundred dollars that I can run into an integrated amplifier, which as we know have RCA inputs.

I was looking through the threads here and found this one that seems to point to something that may work; http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=84103.

I am interested in hearing from anyone with thoughts and/or suggestions and just information in general.

Two more questions; Has XM and Sirius totally integrated, as I seem to gather? Are there sepearate XM and Sirius stations, or will I get all of the stations on a so called Sirius radio?

Lastly, I see so few posts in this forum. Is this because there is little interest in this new medium or some other reason?

Many thanks to anyone who helps me.

Vito

See my post in this thread:

I believe there is a big difference in quality between the radio only downstream, and the one sent to Dish boxes. If you have to buy a unit and pay for a separate service anyway, it might pay to get a basic Dish subscription and get a free receiver. If you have a good DAC, even better. Just note, you only get the music channels however.

I did not have a ‘Sat-radio’ in my vehicle so I bought one from Sirius that would also be portable…I wanted to be able to use in any room in my house.

I bought a SIRIUS ECHO Signal Repeater System… there may be others as well?

I mounted the antenna in my attic facing up.

Works perfectly!

To listen to the unit in other rooms on different systems, say my garage system, I attached a RCA to mini cable into my AUX.
All I do is un-plug the power cord (perm attached) Sirius, pick up the two pieces and plug into AUX, and power outlet….

In the picture I’m it running through my Anthem….sounds fantastic.

It sounds very nice through my Marantz 2235, Fisher 400 (tube), Sansui AU -719, Sherwood S-7190A and Pioneer Spec System.

Point being…For MY EARS…it does not much matter what I hook it to…I enjoy the sound!

Others may have systems and ears that would say differently?

I have a "Roady" XM unit and it came with an in-car adapter with aux out. They also sell an in-home adapter that comes with dock and antenna. So I can switch the unit between car and home stereo. Surely some of the Sirius radio receivers have these types of accessories...

I have XM in my car. I love it. XM sent me an email saying only to "Watch for further details" in the Sirius/XM merger, but hinted that no price hikes are likely. We'll see about that.

I also have XM through my satellite TV provider. Sounds good to me...

I am bummed that The System doesn't have a higher bitrate, but anyway...

I misspoke. I actually have the Audiovox Xpress if that helps.
