Hi !
Is it possible to make scratches on aluminium front panel less visible? I understand that it is not possible to get rid of them completely, but at least somehow make them less "eye-scratchy"?
Thanks in advance.

My experience has taught me "leave them alone, it only gets worse!"

I have had some success filling deep ones with silver paint intended for plastc models (made by Humbrol) There are about 6 different "shades" of silver available, and blending them gets you just about any match.
It requires a very fine brush, steady hand, and a magnifier.
At least if you make a mess, it's easy to wipe it clean & start again.

I suggest standing further away from the equipement, it'll blend right in.
Seriously, I would leave it alone.

IF the faceplate is stamped/engraved and not silkscreened, it can be sanded IF the scratches aren't too deep then the stamp/engraving filled in. There was a fellow posted a thread documenting his success here... about a year ago.

Be very careful. Some are actually anodized
aluminum and you can "burn" right thru with even light pressure. What's the face plate from?

If you quit looking at the scratches, eventually they will go away all by themselves, kind've like a parking lot ding on your car door.
