I have never heard of this company.......when i was wondering in the thrift shop...came across this Old looking silver CD player that seamed to be built pretty heavy duty......also having a digital out and nice looking RCA outs(especialy for its age).....i scooped it up for 20$...i know it read a cd i put in it but have not gotten a chance to listen.....anyone have info on this mysterious peice......i am new to the Audioholic game and will only have a Denon DCD 1520 to compare it with........ive found little info on this unit.....and would appreciate any info i can get.....although i wont have time to compare them for a few weeks or so.........score or no score?

You got a nice score! CEC is a division of Sanyo that builds more audiophile type of gear. I have a 2100 in Gold and CEC built these for Parasound. I had to have mine serviced within the warranty period (skipped on discs that were playable on any of my other machines) and they had me send it off to Parasound in CA. Take a look at here- http://cgi.ebay.com/parasound-CD-player-transport_W0QQitemZ320300558461QQcmdZViewItem?hash =item320300558461&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C 240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 You'll notice that all they changed were the logos and color of the front panel.

Nice unit!
