Hi there,

I recently bought a couple of old items at a swap meet, namely a Kenwood KR-6160 receiver and a Sharp RT-3388 cassette deck.

The Kenwood receiver had a blow fuse, which I replaced with one of the correct rating (4 amp). Before plugging it in, I removed the wooden case and metal cover. When I powered it up, one of the red wirewound resistors behind the output transistors started smoking. Any idea what would cause this, could it be a bad output transistor? There are four Sanken 2SC1115, am I correct in thinking this receiver has a quasi-complimentary output stage? Anyone have a circuit diagram they care to share? Where can I get replacement transistors?

The Sharp cassette deck, suprisingly all the mechanics work fine, the tape transport works in every direction. Only problem is, when you press play, the meters go all the way up and there is a loud buzzing sound. Any thoughts on this?
