Picked this LP up today at GW, only vaguely familiar with the tune from an MP3 cut I listened to a couple times in college. I do know it's a fairly famous piece. Is this recording any good? I haven't even gotten my TT yet, but for mere pennies, I had to snag this! Also bought The Living Brass - "Missing New Orleans" (or something like that) - it should be interesting at least :)

Chris, I picked up the same one at the thrift a couple of weeks ago. It's ok I guess. I was more drawn by the elaborate cover and booklet.

If it is stereo, it is definitely of the 'electronically re-channeled' kind.
Someone on AK used such an LP to do a repair on his car bumper.
Toscanini was a great artist, but his recordings went through some
strange reissues. If you enjoy it, that's all that really matters.
Respighi composed three suites, available in a famous 1958 recording
by Antal Dorati on Mercury. Definitely worth seeking, easily available
on CD if you wish.

stereo it is. i'll see what it sounds like, and if i don't expect much, maybe i'll think it's ok :dunno:
ed, this one didn't even come with the full cover, just the inside portion :thumbsdn: i should've taken that as a sign.

how do you tell if it's stereo or mono? All I have is a number; LM 1768.
Yup, LM = Mono, LS = Stereo.
