Was coming home from taking Walter home this afternoon, it was 75, had the windows down, nice breeze, flipped the radidio to WIMZ in Knoxville, & YES !!...."Slow Ride" by Foghat. AND, it was the long album version ! Crankit up ! Screw a bunch of Nicklebacks, Justin Timberlakes, & zillions of thug-ass rappers...This is what git-down,hi-octane 4-barrel Rockin'-Roll was all about...For a few GLORIOUS minutes, I was back in Spring '76, 19 yrs old again...Hell yeah, Baby !!-Unca Sandy

Know the feeling quite well. Those floor toms on 'slow ride' cooked plenty of 6X9's back in the 70's! Craig had some 'power play' 6x9's with 80OZ magnets that could stand the pain. Blue cones, whizzer with aluminum vented dust cap.

Back then, a true 20 w/channel was "doing something"

Also the Mind Blower 6X9's with the amp built onto the back of them were LOUD!

Remember the FM tuner pack shaped like an 8 track cartridge that would allow your under dash 8tk to play radio? :)

That is what I was sporting in my 64 Plymouth Valiant!

I couldn't tell you what plays on commerical radio stations.
Nothing but public radio stations, cds, and satellite radio in the car for me.

I thought this was gonna be a thread about the band Hell Yeah, but some SLowride from Foghat is excellent too.

I had a 71 Valiant w/some 70's 6 by 9's, heh, they cranked w/that Realistic Booster!

And no, I NEVER wore a mullet OR a blue service-station shirt w/the sleeves ripped off...Nor did I have-or particularily want-a '72 Camaro in primer grey...
