I just had a friend ask what I was doing, I told her via instant msg, Buddy Guy was over for a jam, she replied, 'who's Buddy Guy?'........oh God...

I have heard of him, but not heard him. Gentle, not everyone is 'tuned in"

I was well into my 30s before I discovered blues and jazz. I think Buddy Guy is one of those names I would have been familiar with even in my 20s though.

I remember when I was maybe 19 I worked at an amusement park. I met a girl working there who had never heard of the Beatles. She was at least 16. This would have been in the late 80s. That's pretty sad.

I saw Buddy Guy at City Stages this year. He was smokin'. Really connects with the crowd.
