I just wanted to get some opinions on good speakers to use with my SX-1010. I am looking for good sound with some power at a reasonable price. The sound is the most important aspect to me. Come on all you pro's feed me good info :ntwrthy:

HPM-100's if you can find them locally. Yamaha NS-1000's are fantastic and JBL made a bunch of great speakers in the 70's.
You'll notice that the above are vintage selections. There were a ton of great speakers made in the 80's and 90's that can be had for cheap these days. I'm a fan of Clements, Energy and Paradigm speakers of that vintage.
The best advice that I can give is to shop locally so that you can avoid damage and shipping fees. This also gives you a chance to listen before you buy.

I think it depends on what you listen to and what kind of sound you like.I could name ten speakers with ten different types of sound.In a nutshell the speaks Rushfan spoke of will do.

NS-1000's might be a bit overkill for this application. Also, maybe a little beyond his alotted budget Iwould imagine.
I would look for either Dynaco A25's, Large Advents or maybe some vintage AR speakers..:yes:
