Hi All, I don't often get to this forum but I am looking for options for a new CD player. I don't have a clue what makes a good CD player and I only have about $400.00 to spend. Does this look like a good deal? I like building stuff. Cheers.

They are one of our sponsors. I've been eyeballing one too. And I'm clueless and I like building stuff too. All I know is that tube CD players can impart a rich warmth to the sound and that they can be very expensive. So $400 seems like a good deal.

I'm new, so I hope this makes sense. Since it has tubes, it should have a built in DAC, no? But the listing provides no details about the DAC.

I found that odd as well One. I am calling the store in canada today to talk to them about it. Cheers.
