View Full Version : Loving my new Sharp Aquos 42" LCD

Not sure why, but I decided to get a new TV. I had been running a 34" Sony widescreen/HDTV and really liked the picture, but wanted something bigger (and lighter, the Sony weighs upwards of 200#), since it doubles as my computer monitor.

After checking out all the new LCD/Plasma TV's and seeing what they cost, I "settled" on a Sharp Aquos 42" LCD. It was about half price on clearance. The picture on this thing is amazing, the viewing angle rocks, I love it! I picked up a heavy-duty Eclipse AV stand on CL, with an integrated power strip, hides all my cords and cables. I've got the TV positioned between the big Mirage M-1's, and it makes for an awesome cinematic experience :banana:

Pics! And tell more about the TV. I think there's a Sharp in my future somewhere.

I love my 52" Aquos too.. a hell of a great picture for sure...

We've got 5 of the 42" ones here at work, and that's what steered me to them.. I just had to have the bigger one though..

looks good, I have a 37" aquos, and I love it. great picture with my pioneer elite 1080p DVD player.

Congratulations! My inlaws have a 46" Sharp Aquos. It has an amazing picture.:yes::thmbsp:

Seems to be a constant top pick for TVs.

Some of the new Samsung models (40" and up) are pretty impressive as well.

Well, I decided to pony up the extra $300 and get the 46" version!!! I love it! It looks considerably bigger, and looks great in my room. Also picked up a Logitech Harmony remote, and love that too! I can control my TV, DVD player, even my Squeezebox and Bel Canto DAC3, SWEET! You can program activities into it, so if you come home and want to watch a movie, it will turn on the TV, DVD player and stereo and set all the inputs to the correct ones for listening and viewing!

I saw in the paper today that Ultimate reduced the price on my TV to $1200!!! I got about a $150 refund, this is an amazing price for a sweet TV, so if you're in the market, check this out! The sale is for this weekend.
