Have a chance to pick this up. Has TV, interesting if it works...
So any ideas if the stereo is tube or not?

Everybody had one of those consoles in the unused "living room" in the 60's. Some of them contain some very cool tube amps and tuners. You see the gutted amps on e-bay from time to time. There were also a LOT of total POS units in nice cabinets (like the one my parents had, lol).
I'd be amazed if there's any life left in the TV though.
Some people restore these old beasts for things like record cleaning machines, record storage, etc.
Hope it works out for ya.

Anyone have any ideas on the manufacturer?
Record storage is exactly what the guys said it was used for.

Can't say for sure but it has that late 60's/early 70's baroque look that came in with the transistor. I vote no.

I gotta go with TheRed1 . . . looks mid / late 60's :scratch2:
that being said, it wouldn;t hurt to go kick the tires. . . I saw a early 70's console (solid state) of similar style at a Salvation Army nearby, only it had a monstrous sideboard thing ontop for china, and in the (sealed) speaker locations, were Goodmans Coaxials :thmbsp:
I didn't grab it at the time 'cause it was HUGE and over $100, but go taqke a peek, bring a cordless drill, and open that baby up to see whats under the hood . . . you never know . . .

It's free, so not worried about the cost. It will be Fri or Sat before he is there to show it to me. I thikn your approach is the right way to go - have a looksee and see what happens.
