Hey guys,
I recently acquired a SX-828 on the bay. At first the dial pointer lamp was out, but I took off the case and tap-tap, it went back on! I love it when that happens.
Anywho, the stereo indicator lamp is out. It looks like all of the function indicators use the same lamps, and I was hoping to swap the "am" one for the stereo indicator, but they seem to be "glued" in and sealed off. I guess I could dig it out, but don't want to wreck anything. Anyone know how to safely remove these? I tried tugging with a plastic tweezer, but it doesn't budge.
What a gem for 50 bucks plus shipping. Sounds soooo good at moderate volumes. HUGE tight bass out of the little guy.
Also, I plugged in my recently acquired TT from ABC warehouse (bottom of the line kenwood for $70) and there is mucho noise, even before the needle hits the vinyl. Low, but not real low, like a jet flying at cruise altitude over your house. Not as loud of course, but that type of sound. I have run this tt through my sx-1250, and do not have this. Neither receiver is grounded, and the tt doesn't have any grounding at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Mick
