Looking for some opinions on a Peavey Studio Chorus 210 I am looking to purchase from a fellow I work with. It will never be gigged with as I am really just a hack that likes to make noise. He said it is in great shape but has not been turned on in a few months. The price seems more than fair but i wonder what people think about it's features and quality.
Thanks.

Years ago, I had a Peavey Chorus 212, back when DSP was first introduced in amps. I found it's sound cold and harsh, and quickly traded it. Peavey, along with most US manufacturers (including Fender and Gibson), are now outsourcing parts to China, and quality has plummeted, so, the older the better.
I've been really happy with my Epiphone Valve Jr. (head/cab), which I found for under 2 bills. 5 watts of Class A EL-84 goodness.
For a practice amp, the little Peavey should be fine. For recording or gigging, I'd look elsewhere.

Cool. Thanks. I'm not even sure i would call it practicing as much as pissin off the neighbors with my ineptitude. I can probably score it for around a hundred bills, which seems to be a really decent price.

If I had neighbors, they too would be pissed. Still, it is so much fun to rattle the rafters and make a little noise!
