Handmade with oak or ash frames (IIRC) those old Morgans were--very pretty cars. I have had the pleasure of a ride in an early 1960s version.

Still making them! http://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/

EDIT: Morgan frames are STILL made from ash-wood.

Wasn't one of John Steed's classic cars in the TV series "The Avengers" a Morgan?

That was a 2.4L MK I.... Interesting story on that one.

I needed a windshield for my "super clean" 3.4 Mk I to get a California "fix-it-ticket" cleared.

I found a listing in the L.A. times for a Mk I "does not run" for $25..... When I got there the seller told me they had just bought a new battery for $25 and all they wanted was their battery money back. When I turned the key I did not hear the fuel pump running and knew exactly what was wrong. I paid them their $25, got the signed title from them, crawled under the left rear, and tapped on the fuel pump until it started ticking. Got back in and it fired right up. They were chasing me down the road on foot wanting their Jag back.... Shame though. I ended up stripping the entire car (engine head, gearbox, rear end, interior, doors, hood and deck..... everything) and selling the body shell and engine block for scrap.

My first MGA was a '61, and my then girlfriend and I would be out driving and the car would simply shut off without warning. "Lean forward!!". She'd reply: "What???".

"Just lean forward!". Then I'd reach behind her, pound my fist on the cover over the fuel pump, there'd be that satisfying "brrrrrrp", and the car would start back up.

Gotta love Lucas, "The Prince of Darkness".

Standard or a twin cam? Had a friend when I was in high school that had a twin cam. Nice...

Twin Cam would have knock-off disk wheels.

This one's a 1962 1600 MKII.

My Dad had a 1956 Austin-Healey 100-6. Quite a little rocket. My parents drove it from Long Island to Florida and back for their honeymoon in 1957.

How's this for Something you haven't Seen too Often...Morgan Estate sedan? The Brother-in-law has a Morgan +3, fully restored. He takes me for a ride, now and then. I've drven the car, as well. It feels like the 20"er's are glued to the road. :D
