Picked up a Thorens TD160 with a Shure M91ed cartridge,which needs a new
stylus. I had been looking at for about a year(I kid you not.) at a pawn shop
At the time, they wanted $100.00 for it so it sat there. I went in yesterday
the store had changed owners, so I asked how much they wanted for it:naughty: She said $35.00, so I said ok:drool: It was in the original box
and packed for shipping.Will be getting a new belt and a stylus friday
I need info on ho wmuch oil to put in well,and what kind.

Even at the original asking price, it wasn't really a bad deal, although we all (including yours truly) seem to like getting things "on the cheap"! :D

I'll leave it to one of the resident Thorens gurus to advise you on the lubrication.

td-160 was my first thorens and it was a SOLID table. very reliable. after cleaning the bearing and the well, i use singer sewing machine oil in all my thorens - 3-4 drops. like arkay said, even at $100, it's a steal. i paid $100 for lesser model td-165 the other day, and i'm pretty happy. a lot more for td-125 which i use everyday.
