Hey guys, I have an ever growing list of music media and am looking for a quick and easy way to catalog them (other than creating my own Excel sheet). Any Mac users have anything that fits the bill?

View Full Version : Program for cataloging music? [Mac Users!] mg196 11-13-2008, 04:53 PM Hey guys, I have an ever growing list of music media and am looking for a quick and easy way to catalog them (other than creating my own Excel sheet). Any Mac users have anything that fits the bill? Tmac83 11-14-2008, 03:58 PM Great question, I am a Mac user and was going to catalog my music as well. I found this website, but clearly have no experience with the program but it does work with a Mac. http://www.collectorz.com/music/ elcoholic 11-14-2008, 04:13 PM Easy answer is Delicious Library. Absolutely the best $40 I've ever spent. One caveat though, using the iSight cam as a scanner is iffy. My wife put in most of our library (1100 CDs, 400 DVDs and 500 LPs) using the key board search which is fairly fast. Since it uses Amazon for it's look ups, most of my vinatge jazz LPs had to be input manually anyway. On the upside you can catalog anything that's on Amazon. You can sync to a conventional iPod and have a note file of your entire collection with you when you're out hunting. Another key feature for me is the "Location in Building" field. You can number boxes or drawers and know right where a CD is at, without having to organize them at all. www.delicious-monster.com Stillone 11-15-2008, 08:25 AM Great question, I am a Mac user and was going to catalog my music as well. Easy to add covers and comments. |
