Just got this on a cassette as part of a score.
What's with "Borderline'? I am going to have to listen to this again.
Great sounding ... cassette. Think I need to hunt down the CD or album.

And Black Rose too! They are re-releasing is on 180g vinyl. I might pick it up just to have it. :) Live and Dangerous is also an amazing album. I could go on and on. I love these guys! How can you beat a dual guitar attack (albeit short-lived) of John Sykes and Gary Moore?
RIP Phil Lynott, you never earned the respect you deserved!

Very underrated record. I’m a huge Lizzy fan—my license plate even pays homage to the band :thmbsp:—and I pray for the day that these guys finally get the recognition they deserve. Hard rock, and rock in general, wouldn’t sound the same without them. The other posters had some great recommendations, but while you’re at it, also check out Bad Reputation. Another seriously underappreciated album.

Fightin' and Johnny the Fox are excellent bookends to Jailbreak. Bad Reputation is worth a listen too...
I love these yearly Thin Lizzy threads. :D

Oh Yeah.. Johnny The Fox is a great LP... Not sure about your question about Borderline unless asking why it's so mellow.. Basically a song about getting dumped by a girl...
I saw them about 5 years or so ago in a bar just outside St. Louis with Jackell... What a hell of a great show...
I will say it was by far the loudest show I've ever been to also.. Lizzy loves loud guitars.. It was painful, and even 2 days later still had problems hearing..
Yeah Yeah I know.. don't need the deaf lecture.. but DAMN was it a hell of a great show. I had also seen them back in the late 70's when they were doing the Black Rose tour.. GOOD STUFF :thmbsp:

Phil Lynott died in 1986. Who was doing lead vocals?

I don't remember. I knew it wasn't Phil, but I was surprised at how much the person singing sounded like him.
OH.. I just looked it up.. It was John Sykes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thin_Lizzy#Thin_Lizzy_without_Lynott_.281996-present.29

I have 'Jimmy the Fox' on vinyl and it sounds exceptional! I was very surprised at the quality of the recording... (I guess I am always skeptical when I put on a used 150g record)

Hey man, I know your name
I seen you cruising with the low riders
Hanging out down on First street and Main
Gotta love the Rhythm of that Bloody Song! Man talk about great thumping heart felt and sung music! I saw them Open for Queen at Lakeland Civic Center in the 70's and Phil and the boys TOTALLY blew away Freddy and Brian and I never bought another Queen album after that.

Good choice. Their version is uptempo. I prefer the acoustic version Jerry Garcia does.
