Been working on cleaning up this GW find, Pioneer sx650. Gyusher said it would sound good. He was wrong, it sounds GREAT with the AR4x's

Last night I picked (by default) the 650s little brother the SX-450. . . tuff little bugger. . . I have had several 650s and they play much bigger than you would think. Rated at 30-35wpc I have personally seen tests on mine where clipping didnt start untill around 60 watts, I have had 780s that wouldnt clip untill 80. . . These guys are way underrated. . . Both in sound quality and output.

I have a 525, but I'm having some issues. There is a constant background hum, very low, but annoying when I listen with 'phones at night, mostly WOSU, classical. Also, the tuner is really jumpy and touchy. One micron to the left or right with the knob and you lose the signal momentarily.

Use compressed or canned air and blow out the tunner thing. . . Now hows that for teck talk. . . Tuner thing. . .LOL. . . works somethimes, did for me. . . No lube there only a drop at the bearing points. . .no contact cleaner either just air. . . BTW leave the top screws alone. . .

Darn....I just passed up a 650 at a garage sale yesterday....was beat up a bit ...and no price on the unit ....so I just let it pass.....

I had no use for it anyway...the Realistic 2080 I have is just fine for a back-up..............

Go back! After hearing this tank, I won't pass on any cheap ones. Anyway, isn't that kinda like letting the abandoned puppy go to the pound instead of rescuing it?
