Anyone out there with this deck?
I need a decent deck for archived jam tapes and this is starting to eat them:tears:
Is it worth fixing? or should i go back to the Sony!!!
I think it's a minor adjustment , or belt replacement.

I don't want to insult your intelligence, but I need to ask...how often do you clean the capstans and pinch rollers?
Before every recording session, I would clean not only the heads, but the capstans and rubber pinch rollers to achieve the flattest, steadiest tone possible, devoid of any wow and flutter that can mar the overall sound quality. IMO tape residue left on the rubber rollers over time can cause flutter, slips and eventually tapes being eaten.
Just a thought is all...if you do regular cleaning on your NAD deck, then maybe there is a mechanical problem that I'm not qualified to answer since I'm not a repair tech.

No insult taken. I received this deck 2nd hand and "repaired it" in the summer, tested it,put it away . After digging it out a week ago, it chewed a tape. So i am thinking there is something else wrong as it spring or belt. the take up seems to be lagging leading to "spooling? i'll call it ,then jamming....that's all.I'll give it a clean...maybe something sticky got on the roller or head??
