My 2250B has one or two lights out on the dial, the power switch needs replacing and two of the silver push knobs are loose on their respective switches. Otherwise the reciever works perfectly.
Also, the wood case is not 'perfect' but still looks good.
Should I invest the time and money to bring it back to like new or leave that task to the next owner?

Those are all easy and cheap thing to do. I would venture to say that it would be worth our time and effort to do them.
Power switches are like $10, lights are another $10 maybe and tightening the knob is free (just a little ingenuity).

I say fix it up as best you can and take very nice photos of it if you're going to sell it on the web. It may sell for a ho-hum price otherwise. If I see a piece that looks bad, I assume it hasn't been cared for at all and will just be a problem. Bad photos make me think they may be trying to hide something. A serious buyer will want to see a very good representation of the item. I like to see good photos that show every scratch, or preferably, lack of.
I saw a completely refurbished, mint 2275 on that auction site go for nearly $800.00. The average units usually go for $300 or less. A little TLC seems to go a long way.
My $.02.....

1.What would YOU be more willing to buy? A receiver that needs work, or one where everything works.
