I have posted about my recent purchase of a 2238b and just how good it sounds with my Cornwalls but i have some questions.Just what makes this 2238b sound so incredible and warm and why did i not know about this sooner?:scratch2:I guess that this may just may be a case of two components that work very well together but this 2238b is the best bargain that i have experienced in 30 years of purchasing.1978 was apparently a very good year for Marantz.

You sir, are experiencing synergy, when the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Some receivers/amps are just soul-mates with some speakers, and you never know which ones go with which until you hook 'em up and listen.:thmbsp:

I've a 2238. The lower-powered Marantz systems from that era hit a sweet spot.

Enjoy.

I'm really enjoying my 2230 with my Klipsch Fortes. That receiver just lights up the Fortes like nothing before it. And it looks great as well.

Great catch, the amp and speakers are a good match too!

Love mine too! the 2238b has plenty of power to really light up the cornwalls!

I would like to fine a smaller one for comparison.
