Hi everyone.

I decided to pull out my Pioneer pl50 that I've had for a while and was trying to get it all lubed and cleaned up. It is one of those suspension types and I was wondering how springy they are supposed to be. I need t o replace the belt, but belts are nearly $20 for this model and I want to see if its worth it.

when I try to use the lever to raise the arm, it pretty much cannot be done without bouncing the needle out of the groove because it is so springy. Is it supposed to be fairly solid? Even the slightest touch to the plinth makes it bounce all over the place.

Thanks for any input.
