Here's a pic of some vinyl I encountered this weekend....

Labels include: Dragon, DMM Teldec, Umbrella, Caprice, Wilson Audio, Analogue Production (Premium HQ-180 gm recording), Linn Records, Reference Records, and Proprius. Also scooped a Charlie Parker boxset 3 discs on the Charlie Parker label.

Great find! Most (if not all) of the labels you listed are 'audiophile' labels.

I have and recognize the Jazz at the Pawnshop, Chet and Waltz for Debbie LPs you've pictured but have not come across the rest.

BTW, can you post some details about the Chet Baker LP (B&W cover) in the middle row? Thanks.

Sure, its on the Dragon label and is live in Sweden. I will give a listen tonight and post my review of the album. So far I've enjoyed most of the albums of this collection. I hand picked this batch of albums from about 400+ lps, most of which were audiophile, 1/2 speed mastered, albums.

Pretty decent collection, but it wasn't mine, I just sold it and picked what I really wanted.\

Right now I'm using a Calrad step up tranny for the Koetsu cartridge I have and I'm sure I'm not optimising the quality of this cartridge. I need a better mc stage and things will look up. I will say that I am blown away at how lively and open these lps sound compared to my cd collection. I used to own about 2500 lp's but was forced to sell for another obsession in life. Now I've seem to come full circle back to lps and tubes hehe :)

Thanks, although I have yet to come across that title/label before.

400+ lps, most of which were audiophile, 1/2 speed mastered, albums! I would have loved to have had a crack at those, older audiophile LPs not being that easy to come by nowadays.

Although I do not have any experience with your Calrad step-up transformer, make sure that the impednace of any step-up tranny that you get in the future matches with your Koetsu, which will be quite low (likely to be below 10 ohms).

Enjoy the spinning!

I might spring and purchase a good transformer from a local vendor who apparently does really nice work for mc cartridges. I spun the Chet 180 gram album last night and it came alive!!! I have the standard cd of this album and the 22 K bit cd and neither touch this album.
