I've had a number of the Marantz 22xx receivers over the years. But I have forgotten the "details" of the particular models since it HAS been a few years.

What I am looking for is a second system that can at least hold it's own with my first system. That is a totally recapped and tweaked Marantz 250 amp, 3600 preamp and 125 tuner.

I am looking for something with a quality sound, detail, bass, good for classical, low volume listening, no loud use and a clean sound if possible. Also can be recapped to some extent with out radical surgery.

Please don't recommend the "B" models or silver faced. I've had about four or five of them and have always found them to be to edgy.

I was thinking of the 2265,2275 or even the 2325?? Any thoughts?

That's a pretty nice component system you have there. You will be hard pressed to match it with a receiver. But if you're looking for good low volume listening, take a look at the 2245. It's got plenty of power and they are well laid out, therefore easy to work on.

I have several receivers and I have noticed that they start getting edgy or bright
over 40 wpc.I would lean toward about 20wpc for normal listening levels. It wont
cost an arm and a leg either.Jmo

If you don't need high power, take a look at the 2215 (or 2015, can't remember which). One of those two is highly, highly regarded for their sound quality, even if it only puts out 15 WPC. Can't remember which, though.

If you're looking for good bass and sound quality, a recapping is in order. I recapped my 2250's power supply and filter caps, and found the bass and sound quality improved (as you no doubt have too).
