Thanks for sharing! :thmbsp: Scott Trower 12-22-2008, 09:20 PM Dang seeing that Angel making a wake in the water was nuts......and that close to boats!!! JonL 12-22-2008, 09:21 PM Great pics that remind me of an incident I witnessed once upon a time.... About 20 years ago I was sailing near where the East River meets the Long Island Sound in NY. Two military helicopters were approaching along the river (I think they were USMC, but I'm no longer sure.) They were flying rather low. And got lower. I was shocked when they flew one after the other UNDER the Whitestone bridge and then again under the Throggs Neck Bridge. (These are two heavily trafficked suspension bridges about two miles apart over the East River between Queens and The Bronx.) This must have been a highly illegal maneuver, and I scoured the news the next day for any report but found none. Those pilots were really risking their careers to pull such a stunt. gelmhirst 12-22-2008, 09:24 PM That sneak pass was frickin' amazing....I can't believe they allow that in such close proximity to the public. Agree, how do they get away with such a manouver, strange. I'd love to be there live and see that, it's nuts all around, love it. The youtube coverage of it is great too..nice pics. :thmbsp: lha1992 12-22-2008, 09:31 PM Very nice pictures you have! ybaolywa 12-22-2008, 09:31 PM Super pics! Brian 12-22-2008, 09:56 PM Great photos. Convinced me there is a there is a reason for both digital with fast firing rate and zoom lenses. With My Bronica, I'd have had maybe 10% of those shots. What camera and lens were you using? I think one of my kid's classmates who has recently graduated from the Royal Military College (the Canadian equiv of West Point, Annapolis and the Air Force Academy all rolled into one) has recently been assigned to the Algonquin. DENNYDOG 12-22-2008, 10:04 PM Thanks! That guy is a great photographer! Denny jayk 12-22-2008, 10:14 PM WOW! i'm speechless! great photos. we dont get anything like that back here in vermont. altho i did get to see the 'angels' at an airshow many years ago in chicopee, ma (westover afb). the most exciting thing here is watching the snow melt in springtime. used to spend time in sf area back in the '70s and 'early '80s. to me it's an exciting place. i never realized fleetweek was such a big deal. love to see it some day. That sneak pass is an old trick, when I lived in Pensacola I knew all the Blues over that 11yr period and let me say that those guy`s are Great pilots they used to buzz my house inverted and wave at me. And yes the C-130 has been named Fat Albert for years. Thanks for the Great pic`s and the time it took to get them djv8ga!! BTW if you ever get to go to NAS Pensacola in the museum they have an F-18 flight simulator!! See how good you are?? Mister Tawny 12-24-2008, 03:20 PM I grew up (and lived most of my life) in Alameda. Seen many a fleet week in my 47 years, and always a good time. The Blues are always amazing to watch. I had a different perspective growing up there during the Vietnam war though. Still made me remember the good days too. I miss waking up to see a new 35 story skyscraper that pulled in overnight, you know the USS Enterprise, Vinson or Lincoln (to name a few)....
