This guy I know DJ's around local schools alot.. He's looking for me to put together a CD with number 1 songs.. Or songs to that effect... Basically in the rock and pop style..

But all I can think of is...

Still The One - Orleans
And that song by Queen (can't remember the title)

So any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks, Brent

You might want to check out what he means by "#1" songs.

My kids would run for the doors if I played what you suggest. You probably need #1 from the last year or so; more than 2 years old is dinosauric!

I mean songs like "we're the best" school or basketball team.. Not No. 1 songs from the charts... The year doesn't matter so much from the 70's to present...

I don't know how else to explain it..

"We Are The Champions/We Will Rock You"-Queen,1978. Off the infamous "Fat-Bottomed Girls "Album. Big kerfuffle at the time because of all the Noodity & Nekkididity. Shock ! Horrors! Only other one I can think of would be "Let's Go! (Pony) by the Routers, 1965. Hey,I am 47! And I have had a stroke! Can't remember this chit like I used to ! -Sandy G.

Yeah, 1978 sure was a long time ago.....miss it. Sure was nice to be 21,young, in college surrounded by pretty girls, not a care in the world except passing that Economics test next Friday. Didn't realise how damn good we had it. Audio equipment? Hell, even the dweebs had good systems- dorms would have contests on "who had the bitchinest stereos" & a lot of this stuff we pine for nowadays was spankin' NEW. But we did have Disco, Jimmuh Carter,"Dukes of Hazzard", chitty cars-remember the exploding Pintos- so it wasn't all peaches 'n' cream. -Sandy G.

1978 was a bad year for me....I married the ex that year. The clouds didn't clear for another 10 years!
