Well found this gem in a thrift store.
Anyone else have LP's like this you don't want the significant other or parent to find?
Show them off!

OK guys - let's keep this thread above board. I'm OK w/ it so far, but don't want it to go down the drain. Forum rules say no pornography or obscene material.

And I don't know about the "wife" part of the title - my wife has tried to find a copy of Roxy Music's "Country Life" (original cover, of course!) album for months for me. Hopefully, she will find it some day!

Well.. That sure is art in my eyes, but if you are a store selling the LP it's pornography.. God forbid someone under 18 see an LP cover like that.

I really don't have any provocative LP covers.. I do have one that has a naked girl laying in a filed inside the gatefold.. I can't remember who it is though... I'm sure back in it's time it didn't get much attention, where as today, it would be banned for sure...

The one cover I wished I did have, not because of the subject, but because of the value I'm sure it's worth is the Scorpions Virgin Killer with the girl and the cracked glass strategically placed.

It would for sure be banned today, but just 20 years ago, it was controversial..

How times change.. and a lot of times going backwards instead of progressing..

Maybe they should move to Europe then, where they can see that on prime time TV.. We're far too prudish in the US, but yet everyone is getting busted for some sort of sex crime or scandal, adult stores are all over the place in a lot of states, yet well hidden in the industrial districts, and porn on the net and nudie bars are some of the biggest cash cow businesses in the US...

But it's perfectly OK to show kids all sorts of graphic violence. Which is healthier? Sex/nudity or watching someone be disemboweled?

Just what the song "I'm Asking" is about. By Stepenwolf. It is asking about being so worried about them seing someone making love or just naked, but it's ok to see a horror movie or a shoot em up gangster movie.
Anyway, anyone remember the inside of that cover when folded open? I don't know if I should post it.

I'm wondering if that is the gatefold I was thinking about ihop.. All I remeber is it's an old band from the 60's, and it's kind of a yellowish over all color on the inside..

Just looked it up.. nope.. not what I was thinking of.. Damn.. now this is gonna bother the hell outta me trying to remember what LP I'm thinking of..

It was named " For Ladies Only" I think it was the best written album they ever did. I don't think it sold many because of the jacket. I'm trying to find it right now.

That album cover underwent many changes from the beginning issue. IIRC it was mostly done with the shrink wrap. It was dark green in various levels to cover the ladies. The final shrink wrap was all green on the front.

This thread brought back some memories during my time at a local record shop. The lady that managed the place and I thought the album would be a collectors item way back then. Neither one of us kept a copy tho. Or was it the first issue cover was replaced so quickly that we didn't get a copy. Well at least one copy of the original made it to Paintsville.

oooh, right, but thats not new :) in1976 a guy from NYC (18yrs old) lived at my (17) home for bout 4 weeks in Berlin who was really SHOCKED to see nekkid folks in any public park in Berlin, and really went up the tree when he saw a "Currywurst"-Place near the Halensee where about 25 people waiting in a line for their Curry-Wurst (http://www.lebensmittelfotos.com/wp-content/gallery/fleisch_frei/currywurst_01_sv.jpg) - naturally naked. When he turned around he saw the park at Halensee filled with hundreds of nekkids. This Park is next to the beginning of Kurfuerstendamm in view distance to International Congress Center ICC.
He was below belt with his mouth (verbal, vocally, not orally - don't know correct expr. for talking dirty) very, very (too often), but reality seemed to be too much for him.
Even beein in a public Open-air swimming pool he seemed to get hormonally disturbances, it was like we young kids were the adults and he grew up with Blinkers (correct?). He seemed not to have seen a (life) boob before.
I partly understood, when I've been at Long Beach with his family when I went to US in the same year. 1000s of people and not a bit of a tit... that was unreal. For me. No wonder those kids had sticky Hustlers under their beds. What also was comlpetely new to me those stiff straight dating rules, like if it's a contract dating a girl... horrible

I wonder if this got worse or better in 35 yrs.

It's gotten much worse here in the us in 35 years... Some beaches even wanted and have, or tried to ban certain bathing suits at the beach. If they don't cover so many square inches of butt, they are too small.

The things I saw and did in Germany and Europe.. WOW... Yep.. not prudish there at all... My 18th birthday treat, some friends took me to the Eros Center in Trier... Or was that Luxemburg.. eh.. either way.. what a fun place.. better than any candy store I've ever been to.. ;)

OK, that's extreme :) but for me & friends those Sex-Shops or Eros-Center weren't half as interesting as for him, we didn't have to "talk sex" every minute of a day as he had to, I had sex a good year before on my first single trip with Interrail thru Europe.
I think His Hormones were under kind of pressure, even so his family was pretty openminded as I found (Journalists). May be because he was eldest son. His 14yr old sister was better "informed"... :)

Hey when I was a young teenager my dad worked for Fox studios and brought home a couple boxes of records from work one day. He would play some of the music, but then the covers all got censored. Us kids were not allowed to touch or even look at themthem.:nono: I remember a couple of Lps by the Ohio Players (don't even know why he brought those home he didn't like their music, must have been free) "Honey" comes to mind. Don't know what ever happened to the LPs so check out this link to several of their covers http://www.wfnk.com/ohioplayers/images/mercury.html

Well, my thoughts is that pornography is defined differently for those of us who were breast feed vs. bottle feed. It all depend if it make you hungry or horny!!!! I often wondered why man could go topless on the beach and women couldn't. Could this be the reason women get breast cancer at an alaming rate. I can see it now topless bathing a cure my brest cancer. Wouldn't it be nice? I hope you are thinking of the cure.

My wife already screwed up/deeply scratched one song (shattered) on a $225 Keith Richards solo double LP album I got in Japan at a department store for $8.00 in 1983. I'm still really upset about that one, and it's been 2 years since it was scratched! I only played the album two times since 1983, and she scratched it on the second playing. Unbelievable.

Sometime in the 70's as a kid I remember finding an album by a band called The Nude. Of course it was worth ivestigating. I really can't remember for sure but I don't think there was anything more than the band somehow covered up, but obviously naked. Seems like on the back was the statement "this album was recorded in the nude."

Don't want my wife to mess with ANY of my collectors LPs.

She trashed a $225 Keith Richards album just on it's second play from being brand new in 1983. I paid $30 or so then, bought it in Japan. It got badly scratched on one song (ironically the song's name 'was' shattered, for 11 passes. Really pis$#d me off, still does, and that was a year ago, what can ya do?

To answer the question: I don't want my wife, or anyone really, to even look at my collectors LPs. I know...but I'm serious as a heart attack.

Just the way it is now. No one touches the LPs but me.

Ah! Have we forgotten Joey Heatherton?

I always loved her as a kid.
I remember seeing this record in my neighborhood record store in the 70's.
But it had a different, shall we say, a much less controversial cover.

I never got around to buying it then...but I just had to, after seeing this wonderful re-release!:yes:

Have we forgotten Joey Heatherton?

Never. Joey starred in my favorite episode of the television program Love, American Style.

Wait until you see the extra photos that are included inside the CD package!
As Ed Norton would say to Ralph about Marilyn Monroe: "Va-va-va-voom!"

Chinga Chavin's Country Porn (not so much for the artwork, but the lyrics).

Saw this one at the GW today. No idea who Jorge Santana is, but I like the cover :)
