Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I was wondering if any Floyd experts could help me with this one.

Is the French LP the only pink vinyl version of this release, or are there others?

There are two on 'Bay, one for starting $50 and one for $100 BIN.

Long and short of it is, a friend once gave me this LP ages ago, and it got trashed (was framed) in college. I miss the record dearly, as it sounded great, and would like to consider replacing it with a minty copy.

The version I had had the plain pink jacket. I noticed that those on line differed. Seems strange for the same type of release or pressing.

Anyone know the approximate value of that record? Are those on the 'Bay smoking something?

Thanks for all your help in advance and Happy New Year.

I wouldn't pay more then 50 for it. The colored vinyl to me was a fad. No changes in sound quality just astetics.

Veron Fitch's web site lists all offical Pink Floyd releases you could check there:

http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/PFArchives/DiscTOC.htm

it shows a Pink Jacket and Pink Vinyl as well as a Power station photo jacket with Pink Vinyl

As to value well that will be what the auctions close at.

You could do a search at popsike.com for the recent auction values

Thanks. I noticed the blue vinyl version went for about $29 plus $15 shipping from Germany, so the pink version may not be too far off that mark, or about $50 or less (optimally after shipping), give or take a bit.

This is one LP recording that sounds way better than CD to my ears. Even my NM- Columbia issue vinyl sounds better than a friend's imported UK 20th Anniversary Edition CD copy. :)

I don't believe it was a greatly recorded PF album to begin with, but it had moments, and I really enjoyed it conceptually back in the day.

My favorite Pink Floyd Album. Haven't seen it, but It would probobly look great framed in the right setting. Colored vinyl is fun.
