A highly subjective topic, no doubt...but

My vote goes for Herb Alpert's "A Taste of Honey". I suppose I could make a few additional comments, but they are probably best left unstated. I even like the LP.

Any way, it sure beats the John Lennon/Joko Yono cover from the 70's. That one always made me shudder.

Fire away,
Chas

I liked that album, too... if we're talking about the same one. The album name was Whipped Cream And Other Delights... the 1st track was A Taste Of Honey. You ought to get the "Re-Whipped" version that came out a couple years ago. It features hip-hop and R&B productions, etc. mostly from the original recordings but with some new overdubs by Alpert himself. It's hard to describe, but intriguing.

My favorite was always the first "Flash" album, followed by Roxy Music's "Country Life."

I picked up the "Country Life" LP a few days ago in a thrift shop. Rather surprising, out here in East Outer Prudistan...

They continued the great American tradition of stupid covers for classical music.

While London records were recorded and pressed in England, the covers were designed and printed here. Some of the early ones were a real hoot.
