Loverly is very good.

I thought Patricia Barber did a better job on "The Cole Porter Mix", but both are very good.

Currently listening to Larry and Lee - Larry Carlton & Lee Ritenour. Includes some real nice drum work by Harvey Mason as usual.

Jim

girl in the other room-temptation-the best version for me.

miles davis-siesta-on vinyl, hard to find on cd or vinyl, underrated.

miles-tutu-the best of his post hiatus work.

What Vambo is really interested in is the Euro-fusion MPS label.Especially the electric keys fusion stuff.

A vinyl forum which I haunt recently brought up a thread on this. Some of the artists mentioned, I am aware of and the lps are very good indeed:
Volker Kriegel - Missing link
-Spectrum
Chriz Hinze - mission suite
Jasper Van't Hof -Transitory

But Vambo has yet to hear any of these recommended ones:
Joachim Kuhn -Cinemascope (very rare)
-Hip Eledgy
Wolfgang Dauner & Hans Koller - kunstkopfindianer (Indian Art-head??)
Dieter Reith -knock out
Peter Herbolzheimer - wait a minute
-wide open
Siggi Bush- age of miracles
Rolf Kuhn - connection '74
-total space
Hans Koller - freesound for Marcel Duchamps

Anyone heard?

If any of the above are sax-heavy, I want to be forewarned.

I like the long jazz thread and chime in there regularly.

We do tend to just list our recent spins without much discussion though.

I used to add discussion with my posts. I did that for a long time with very little response. So I quit doing it. I figured folks weren't interested. I'll start doing it again though if it'll generate more discussion.

Cheers

Discussion is the better part of listing.

I will definitely get a copy. Riverrat introduced me to some fine Sonnys. I am a fan but Mr. Stitt output is so varied.

Keep the old, coments are rarely needed

Comments are needed for a goof like me who wants to expand his jazz collection...

I'd really like to know what type of jazz, how you rate it, etc... is it fusion, traditional, acid, nu, bebop, dixieland, latin, ragtime, swing jazz or somethin else? what kinda rating (ok, you're spinning it, great, but how does it compare to everything else out there?)

How's a guy supposed to broaden his horizons (without hating it) if all he has is just a list of albums to pick from randomly? :D

We don't need two threads. For example the daily threads have been chugging along since 2002.

Therefore I am closing this thread
