I keep seeing this inexpensive Music Angel amps. Obviously they are made in China, and apparently they are very good, but once they have been modified, or more like taken apart, parts left out, and put back together less those parts that were taken out.

Check: http://www.lampizator.eu/AMPLIFIERS/CHINA/SET%20triode%20amplifier%20Music%20Angel%20845%20H ong%20Kong.html

Has anyone had any experience with this, and if so what are your impressions. I already know they are not good as they come from the factory. I am more interested in using them as a start up platform.

PR, You have the right idea and at $600 one has a very difficult time just buying the iron let a lone paying out for a pair of 845's.

Though not many people see it from your point of view or mine.

And I have heard bad 845 amps as well as good ones! And when they are bad they are bad!!!

But I know I could make it sing.

But if the guy has seen 27 of these go through his door thats a good indication that the iron is good and that would be my main concern.

Another company that I was interested in was this one and their Ming 805

http://www.pacificvalve.us/MD3008A.html

They are out of IL. and have a good service dept. with parts and they burn them in before releasing them for sale.

These are $2200 and the nearest priced amps that I have seen are $4000 a pair.

Not to long ago they were as low as $1700 a pair I nearly bought a pair!

My .05c

There is a problem with someone that has scoured the earth to find YOU an affordable amp. Nobody is doing anything for free, or even a small profit.

There has to be inferior parts throughout. (my first thought).
Maybe not, but IME, if it seems too good to be true, it is. Always.

Now, if they scoured the earth to find a wholesale price they could jack thru the roof..that I have no problem believing.
