View Full Version : Deftones Vinyl?
Slip Nixon 01-04-2009, 09:35 PM Howdy, I am curious if their was any Deftones fans around here that may know anything (more) about the Deftones and which albums have been released on vinyl or not.
I am looking for the album Around the Fur on vinyl, and Adrenaline. Either Deftones vinyl is extremely rare (pre-white pony era)....or it's extremely rare.
I was able to find that they had put out 12" singles for the Around the Fur album consisting of My Own Summer & Be Quiet and Drive. But even searching for those two songs haven't yielded anything. I did find one instance of Adrenaline being released on vinyl, but no one is selling. (or so i could find)
Anybody else have any info on this?
I will be subscribing to the forum soon, i'm not sure if that will yield more info about this sort of thing. but at least i could find rare albums easier.
Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

no way...links?
I've been searching for these albums for days now, i havent found anything.
adrenaline or around the fur, right?
*edit* - re-issued picture discs are out. I mean, if thats the only thing avaliable, then maybe. but i've heard that picture discs sound horrible.
Slip Nixon 01-04-2009, 11:15 PM Ok, well I don't see no way around the picture disc of Adrenaline. The original Vinyl of that album is rare and no one is selling. (that i can find)
So, i now turn the thread into "picture disc listening quality", hahaa.
Are ALL picture disc records bad sound quality? Or maybe its just some that are bad. I do have a 25th anniversary Michael Jackson Thriller picture disc, i am going to pull that out right now and give it a spin to see how it sounds.
Sam Cogley 01-04-2009, 11:26 PM From the "picture disc" thread, it sounds like the quality varies quite a bit, but isn't universally horrible. Some are supposed to sound just as good as anything else.

Yeah, I just put on Michael Jacksons Thriller pic disc.
It seems that the highs crackle, but the depth of the bass seems good.
i am going to search for this "picture disc" thread. Thanks Sam!
240sx4u 01-04-2009, 11:50 PM Dude, I love the album cover in your avitar..
I paid a premium for White Pony on vinyl. It sounds excellent. I think I paid $60 for it, and I got a good deal. Easily one of my favorite albums of all time though.

Nice, another 'Tones fan around here.
Thanks. Good to hear you scored a quality album. So, you got White Pony on Vinyl. Is it the Red picture disc, or the basic issue one on black vinyl? That one is next on my agenda.

I think it's in the turntable section.

I had enough trouble justifying the money for the black vinyl, let alone a picture disc or red! The red sets were in the low 100s.
