I just unwrapped the vinyl and it's playing through the first time. I wish some of my mp3-fan friends were here to listen to how truly amazing virgin vinyl can sound.

No ... errr ahhh ... just got it off eMusic, 320K VBR MP3. Good way to check it out before I spend money on real media.

I spent some quality time with this album in the fall -- much different than their previous work, but very, very good.

Recently heard a 2008 live recording of The National. Interesting.

Hey, I do the same thing. There's an MP3-CD-vinyl pattern in my purchases, and depending on how much I like an artist they graduate up the ladder. It leads to a lot of redundancy but I like different formats for work/car/home.

I think it's a good way to discover new music without an investment in something you may not like. Glad you agree.
