Linear tracking, quartz lock, solid heavy fell to it, slim line design, P-mount cartridge AT1001 in it. It just has one little problem...:sigh:

The arm seems to be sticking, and not tracking well. The manual controls now move all the way back and forth, but if you drop the needle on some vinyl, it seems to stay put. I've lubed it a bit with some thin lubricating oil, but I'm wondering if there's some adjustment or perhaps a belt or something it needs. The platter appears to hold speed OK...

Anyone familiar with this TT or one of it's relatives? Ideas? Advice?

TIA.....:thmbsp:

These linears often have belts for automation. You'll probably have to open it up and see if you can figure it out. Over at vinylengine.com there's a service manual for the PS-LX55 which looks like yours. It might help.

Howard is right, there is a small motor that drives the arm and it does use a belt.

I have Sony PS-FL7 II, it has a cable drive. The tonearm stalls about 3/4 across the record and at the end, not picking up. In both cases if you give a little push with your finger it moves along. The main shaft has plenty of lube. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the thread high-jack
