Bands in the 90's invented this thing called the "hidden song". They put this mythical track on their last song about 45 minutes into the song separated by silence.
I love the Deftones, but on their Around The Fur album, they had so called "hidden track". I was cranking the tunes one day, extemely loud, and passed out on the couch because i was tired. The last song was kinda slow and a bit on the low side. I woke up 40 minutes later, abruptly, to rumbling drums followed by head shattering distorted guitar and it literally scared the shit out of me. No, i didnt shit my pants, but i about had a heart attack and died at the young age of 20.

I worked in a small build shop when the White Stripes came out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they are bad. I know they have a large following, etc. However to me they just sounded like fingernails on a chalk board. One of the guys 3 benches over worshiped that band, in fact if it were possible he would build them a temple and become the high priest of Stripism. He forced the rest of us to listen to that CD over and over for a week. Somehow his crappy little Soundesign or York or whatever that POS was made its way to the shipping department and got filled with shipping foam. (I can neither confirm nor deny that I was involved.)

I have managed to avoid Boy Bands. Couldn't tell you anything by the Jonas Brothers, the Backsteet Boys, and others whose names I've gratefully forgotten. There does seem to be an abundance of Backstreet Boys in the CD bins in trift stores. They are to CDs what Barbara Streisand is to vinyl.

Most radio, I would agree. But since I picked up my 8080DB, and it can actually tune in FM stations properly, I've been listening to the local classical music station. I've never been especially into classical music, but hearing it with such clarity has opened up a whole new area of interest for me.

The woman is beautiful, but she earns an unbeatable double award from me: she is BORING as hell as a singer, and to add to the misery, her "sophisticated" songs have chords and changes in them that make me want to rip my skin off in public. If Frank S. were still alive, he'd give her a good talkin' to.

There is waaaay too much new pap for me to list, but suffice to say, I am glad (much like TenToze) that I am the only one who puts anything on my stereo.

I want to thank whoever posted "Seasons in the Sun", that was the first song I thought of when I saw this thread, and I had no idea who "sang" it. I have to agree about Bungle in the Jungle- I hated it when it was new & still do, though I am a Tull fan. The classic rock stations have a way of overplaying so much drivel- it is hard to know where to begin! BTO- I can sing better than that & I most assuredly can't sing! Styx, Journey, Bad Co., the list goes on & on. Thank goodness I don't have a tuner in my main system.

One band I never cared for: Red Hot Chili Peppers. Poor mastering aside, I just didn't like them much.

A friend gave my wife "David Foster and Friends - Hitman." It's kinda of an all-star tribute to David Foster, the music producer. He brought out this new 16 year-old talent, Charice (?) from the Philippines...she sang I will always love you...trying to make the new Whitney? He really gushed over her to the crowd...what an amazing new talent that I have personally discovered!

Nope, it's not you. Granted, the 16 year old gal has some pipes and the production on the CD is good, but the music itself is the most bland, overproduced dreck I've heard in a while. It makes me wretch just like a "Greatest Hits" compilation of Kenny G, Michael Bolton, and Celine Dion would.

I hate Nickleback, and every other band that sounds like them. Sound-alike bands are all terrible. Half the time I turn on the radio I cant tell if its Nickleback, Chris Daughtry, Hinder, Creed, Staind, etc. They all sound the same. Damn RIAA...they find something that sells good, so they make EVERY band have that sound :(. Ok, Im done ranting, but I can go on for hours lol.
