Hey guys.... I've looked and looked and for some reason I can't find it anymore so I apologize. But for the multi-section (Metalized Polypropylene) caps in the GX-280D units, what caps would you suggest using to replace them with and from where? I've looked on Mouser and Digi-Key and the ones I find don't look anything like the ones I see in the restored units on here.
Thank You,
Matty

On my GX-365D the Multi was a 2uF and 1uF @ 450VDC
I gutted the can(opened the top and put the can in boiling water to loosen the wax) and put the new units in the can, hooked them up, re-attached the can and went to town.
I used Panasonics (can't remember which now) and they worked really well.

I do know that you can't get the multi-sections anymore really, but every time I look for the caps I can't find them. I have a 1 uf at 260 v, 3 uf at 260v, and when i look for a 2.5 uf 200v I get a cap at 800v on digi-keys website. I know that more voltage on the new cap isn't bad but I don't think you guys go that high do you? They don't have a Panasonic that is even 2.5 uf, they only have a 2.4 uf and a 2.7uf. I would just like to stick with the same brand of caps through out the entire machine if I could. Would it hurt I I was off by .1 or .2 uf?
Also, could I get away with using 250v caps instead of 260v?

10% tolerance is acceptable. so a 2.4uF is ok.

Are those the motor run caps?
I ended up getting proper values from Grainger and changed the mounting hardware from the round OE style to the oval type. I replaced the multi-caps with individual caps. My deck is a GX-270D - probably different values but the same idea.

Yes they are. I didn't even think about looking into that place but thank you for the idea.
And thank you Larry. The caps I'm gonna get are the "Panasonic ECG" M.P.
I'll be ordering them soon so when I'm done I'll definitely put up pics and a video.
