Good luck!

Welcome to AK, and our mad world of Sansui.
The AU 9500 is a well built unit. The rust you have can be removed by light sanding, but be careful to ensure all the dust and debris you generate gets cleaned away. The framework internal to the amp was originally cadmium plated, and the dust from that is a bad thing to breathe. Once the rust is gone you can touch up the damaged area with a good automotive primer.
First things first, get it working.
Your level of disassembly will dictate how much of that rust you will be able to address, it's no big deal, unless it's really severe the rust won't affect the operation of the amp.

The monster amp came home last night. Fire it up and 1st impression puts a smile on my face . As it warms up further it sounds even better. One of the best integrated amp that I've listen to so far.
Didn't know a solid state would sound as warm as this .
Mid range is simply beautiful and clean sounding with very good bass and seperation. Guess I would have to split time listening to my tube gear and the Sui now. Simply luv it and you guys are right bout it.
Would appreciate if any one advised what speaker connectors to use for cables that are chunky and hard to fit into those old binding post or is there a way to mod them.
Thanks

Consider smaller cables, unless you are running a long ways from amp to speaker the speaker wire doesnt need to be big.

That's right , speakers are far away from amp and I'm using Belden 1313 that's why I need some smaller connectors to fit in.
Also after listening for 2 days , I discovered once in a while the pops and crackle on the right channel is still there and it's apparently softer.
Could it be transister or any advise is most appreciated.
Thanks .
