I bought a new Hard Drive from NewEgg.com,It was shipped by Fed Ex. I had it tracked and it was to arrive Monday,Today is Thursday and tracking shows Delivered to Front door. Well it seems the driver was spooked by my steep driveway which I try hard to keep ice and snow free,Anyway I called Fed Ex and they said the driver dropped the package off at the bottom of my driveway,In a snowbank!
I might find the damn thing by spring.

In the meantime Newegg was nice enough to send another by UPS.:nono: Bad Fed Ex!

As a computer nut, I find this sin to be just about unforgiveable. I'lls second the idea that someone else helped themselves to it.
I really wish that UPS and FedEx still required signatures when delivering something. Just dropping things off is stupid.

In the area I live that is possible,
Its a rural part of Iowa on a gravel road but has lots of traffic.

True,In fact in this case a Sig was required,The driver called his boss and asked if in this case it was ok to just leave it at the bottom of my driveway. The Boss gave the driver permission.:sigh:

Our Fed Ex & UPS guys have been great since we moved to the sticks, but the USPS subs they have occasionally have sucked. Worst one I can remember:

We have a driveway sensor, so we know someone's coming up the driveway well before they get here (~350' of uphill gravel drive). I'm usually out on the porch by the time they're at the garage, 'cause the dogs have been barking for some time by then. I had purchased some mint condition JBL 033 tweeters shipping from Washington State...old, rare, fragile, not cheap. I watched the Postal Temp drive their clapped-out Maxima up to my garage, with a giant bag of Doritos on her lap. At about 15 feet to the garage door, she drops her arm out the door and BOWLS the box the last few feet to my door! I was maybe 25 feet off to her side at that point.

"Holy sh*t, hey THANKS!" I said. :gigglemad

She looked like she'd seen a ghost.

"You know, the contents of that box have survived for more than 30 years even though they're very fragile, and they've probably made it cross country all the way to my driveway intact, and then you ROLLED them the last 15 feet and most likely destroyed them. I'm sure the Postmaster will enjoy watching the feed from my security camera."

She was unemployed before she even got back to the Post Office that day.

During our snow, the Fedex guy walked up a hill to deliver our box to the front door. Never did see the truck.

Even SUVs had problems slipping and sliding on the hill.

Good for you...I (and I am sure others) would love to see that video. Absolutely lazy ...and I loved your reply to her.

I hope the tweets were OK.

Didn't have to show the vid, the local postmaster believed me and I'm told she didn't deny it when confronted. Didn't bother to load it off the server. The point was really to get her to wake up & take some responsibility.

My town is so small that I tell old friends in NYC, "I've been to the Post Office here. His name is Wayne." The building's smaller than my garage.

Tweets tested fine, luckily- very well-packed. She still needed to think about what she was delivering to people, and treat the stuff with some respect. She also should step away from the Doritos, but I'm guessing that's a lesson she'll never learn.

I want to put my two cents in : I just shipped two NS 1000's at 102 pounds each from Florida to California . Honestly : spent close to $100 for shipping supplys , hours boxing them up and posted on this forum for input. Shipped by Fedex Ground they BOTH arrived with damage . I really felt like crap , but the buyer also posted here and to make a long story short : he replaced the woofers that FEDEX damaged and did not want to pursue a claim . He was just the best in every way . That said : As a person who ships vintage equipment and cares about my reputation and wants the buyer to be happy these posts about ruined equipment really bother me . If you spend good money on an item and the seller does not take the time to pack it correctly , demand your money back ! And if it is packaged with care and the shipper delivers it broken or leaves it on your porch , call them and demand a credit for shipping! It should not matter if the delivery person is making $5 an hour or $50 an hour . Pay does not equal integrity .The time has come to say enough! to bad service , rude people , greedy companys and indifference . Times are bad now , but when they get better DON'T forget the good and the bad service you are getting. YOU ARE A CUSTOMER , if my customers are not happy they will go somewhere else . If you have a problem let everyone know ! They will listen and help or they will fade away .

Sure if my Drive was glare Ice I could see his point,But It faces south and I keep in scrapped clean and throw sand and ash on it for any packed spots. That day I could easily drive up it in my rear wheel drive Dakota without a problem.

The Driver still works for Fed Ex,I could have made a big deal out of it but I just ain't that kinda guy.:D

I agree 100% to everything you said...Times are rough, and being half ass is not going to cut it anymore. Money is tight , and people are going to scrutinize "the product" more than ever.

The woofers were damaged?? No cabinet damage? It is common for the woofers in these speakers to fail after all these years during any shipping process. Mayhaps you should put the blame where it belongs.
