I found "The Grateful Dead, Live '72" at Goodwill today. It plays great in my Scandia IC RS83 Stereo 8 Recorder. Sorry you can't have it.

It seems that i always see 8 tracks down the the Goodwill store. Next time i am there, I'll see what they have.

I'm sure there should be a good selection on Conway Twitty, Porter Wagner, and Bob Wills & the Texas Palyboys! :D OH! You said you DIDN'T like country. Well shame on you! I'll take a peek and see what they have anyway. ;)

It seems I might even have an Elton John 8 track around here somewhere.

My 8 track of Billy Joel "The Stranger" is getting worn out lately ;)

Seems that "Scene from an Italian Restaurant" is an appropriate thing to cruise to in that car :D

What year is the Lincoln? Post a pic please. My grandfather had an early 70's model that was gold and huge.

She's a '79.....only a 400 2 bbl, so it moves, but is no rocket.

What a car to drive though.....

My father passed away in May so I inherited his 50 or so country and bluegrass 8 Tracks. They are all in great condition and sound pretty good.

What do the Goodwills in you guys area charge for 8 tracks? My favorite store here in Tampa has $3.00 on them so I don't buy unless it's something in really good shape and something I'll really like listening to.

Ever thought about upgrading the stereo in that big behemoth?;)

Nice car!

I once had 1978 Mercury Cougar. I loved that car. Red with white leather interior and an electric sun roof. Chrome moon rims and AC. Even had an 8 track player. First thing I did was to remove that factory player and install a proper radio with cassette and put in some Jensen triaxials for the rear and Jensen coaxials in for the front. This was in 1984 mind you.

Anyway, that's cool you want to leave it original and if I had some 8 track tapes I'd send them to ya.

Come to think, I haven't owned an 8 track in 25 years.

Some more on the way!

If that has the same or similar dash layout as my '76 Linc mark 4, climate controls to the left of the steering wheel, stereo low on the right, it is a BITCH to change.

I spent over 4 hours before giving it up as a bad job. It came out (or didn't come out) through the back, vs pulling out the front on most vehicles.

Add to that the 5 million little vacuum hoses running everywhere for the automatic climate control (Thank God the heat worked!) and oh well, hello eight tracks!!

It might be different, I know the Continentals were built on a different platform.

As long as everybody is beating the bushes for 8 tracks, I'm looking for Pink Floyd - Animals on the forgotten format. It has an extended version of the last track that never made it to the CD reissue.

If ya want my copy of Boston's first album, whack me with a PM.

It seems that if you drive a Hot Rod Lincoln then you should have at least one 98-Track of Commander Cody singing said track.

Just a thought ?

Kam, do they ever give you the Evil Eye when you pull into work at the Acura place in the Lincoln? What a Land Yacht! I thought my '69 is big-it's almost mid-sized compared to yours-its only 226" long. I think yours is 232" or something. Actually, the '69 Mercury Marquis was about an inch longer than my Lincoln- & Lincoln lost a few sales over it. I DO think the "Suicide-door" series 1961-69 are some of the prettiest big cars Detroit put out since before the war. My favorite was the 1966-67 convertible sedan. A gorgeous car.- Sandy G.

I had a '71 Marquis 2 door, this is bigger ;)

Funny as I'm driving it today. Parking this damn thing and maneuvering it around the lot is an adventure to say the least. This place was a Buick dealership until 1992, but it's been a loooong time since anyone's seen anything of this size around here.

Incidentally, she's now got a new set of Tiger Paws and fixed the A/C up yesterday. It'll freeze you out of the car :bigok:
