I think you'll dig the RS-3B's, I loved my RS-6000's, which seem to be an updated version of your speaker.

Don't know anything about the specs and crossovers. I do know that I love the sound from RSIIIAs. Very revealing!

RS III As sound, IMO, better than RS 5Bs. I think you'll be pleased with them. :music: :thmbsp:
The later series like the RS-6000 are not even close to the same sound quality as the earlier ones. [Again, IMO. YMMV.]

I bought RS-4b's in 1988 and upgraded to RS-IIIb's in 1990. The IIIb's had pretty much the same midrange and treble performance as the smaller 4b's, but with a noticeable improvement in the power and extension of the bass. I think you'll experience the same improvements moving up from 5b's, only more so. The 5b's will play down to about 43 Hz, whereas the IIIb's extend on down to 35 Hz. The extra woofer and, more importantly, the increased cabinet volume combine to give the extra bass extension.
Crossover points for both the IIIb and 5b are the same, at 600 Hz and 4000 Hz.

I have RSMs and RSIIIb speakers and even though the RSIIIb has smaller 10" woofers, it has two vs. the one for the RSM at 12". The RSM has good deep bass but I agree that the extension from the cabinet volume makes the bass from the RSIIIb rich and deep.

With a couple of pair of 5bs, a pair of 4bs, and a pair of IIIBs, I have heard a few of these models. I also have a sensitivity to bass (being a former bass player contributed.) I like the 5bs. The 4bs are very good. And the IIIBs have excellent bass, but are otherwise similar. I just may prefer the 4bs for daily drivers, and the IIIBs for those special jam sessions. You will be very happy with the IIIBs. Now if tedrick will just ship me those IIBs so I can hear the emims, I'll be happy. Although this line is not as popular as the Kappas, I think they hold up a little better and are a little easier on equipment.

I see you have your TT on top of the gear cab. With your new setup, be on the lookout for rumble when playing the TT. I wouldn't be surprised if you introduce some rumble into the mix with the cab sitting directly on the hardwood floor. If you get some rumble with the TT you could put some isolation rubber under the feet of the cab the TT sits on.
The before looks mighty fine there and even better with the new speaks.
Nice setup looks good - WAF factor low!
Cheers,
Bob
