I wanted to turn you guys/gal on to Johnny A if you haven't already heard him.

He is a local guy so I'm kinda partial, but besides that, he can play his ass off.

He's been around for a while and playing with people like Bobby Whitlock, Santana (you can read all this on his web page johnnya.com) and in 2000 put out an all instrumental album of excellent guitar.

He sounds like he can play any style. I hear all kinds of influences, like Chet Atkins for one.

The albums called 'Sometime Tuesday Morning' and it's even got a Ventures song on it - Walk Don't Run - for those old enough to remember.

And for the Texas connection on this site, he's really got the Texas twang/Southern/ Country thing down.

He even had a tune from this cd playing on the radio. When was the last time an instrumental got radio air play?

All in all some great gitar music and it's well recorded to boot.

By the way, I don't work for him and he's not my brother or anything; just want to share a good thing when I hear it.

Jozmo,
What part of Ma you in? I lived in Chelmsford in the early/mid 70s and had a friend that was a guitar wizard named Mike Idonasie (not sure I spelled his name correctly) You ever hear him play?

Thatch,

Chelmsford is not far from me, about 30 min. away. I'm in Melrose, more east.

Can't say I've heard that name Thatch, but if you ever gat a chance to hear Johnny A play, try it, I think you'll like it!

I will check out his site for sure. I do love good guitar work. Derat who is a member here is a geetar man down in the Cape. We have been online buddies about 2 years now. Ironically we started exchanging emails only 2 months after I was less than 5 miles from him on vacation. Small world.
