Well, I guess I don't need to suggest an MX150 since I know you will be getting one, and I guess I don't need to suggest a C2200/MC75 commerative combo since you already said you would be getting that, and I guess I don't need to suggest a pair of XR200's since you already got a pair, and I guess.....:D

I'm not into home theater, but I do like to go to the cinema to see movies.
I've been to a Imax theater to see a couple of flicks and felt that the experience was worth while. If my house were a lot bigger, it would be great to have such a theater system for home use.

Surround sound alarm clock; you may be on to something... NOT!

I have never heard a Mac but have always drooled over them. Does the company take spare body parts in trade for gear (I can't afford a box they come in). Because I have this spare arm here I'd trade for a nice little integrated amp. If they offer something really nice I could be talked into pulling off a leg. :D

Surround sound alarm clock; you may be on to something... NOT!

Just imagine...

at the preset hour, subtle music begin to enter your consciousness as sleep begins to give way to the gentle reality of the sound.

You stretch under your covers listening to the sound coming from the two front channels and hear it move across the room, engaging the surrounds and then moving with some force towards the rear...

Suddenly..., the center channel joins the other six, all like a siren, drawing you gently out of your slumber...

but still you're holding onto your sweet dreams, until the sub comes on with force

thump-thump, thump-thump, thump-thump

oh! the great symphony of the sounds that are rousing you to meet the new day

and then you hear a voice, which sounds vaguely familiar...

HONEY, CAN YOU TURN OFF THE DAMN ALARM!!!!!

IT'S SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right you are, and I would like to have it. The problem is that the cars I love the most; Ferrari, Lamborghini & Porsche would be severely compromised to put one in. They all have factory navigation & color screen back up cameras.

Besides, I don't play music in them; the engine sound is a magnificent symphony all by itself.

Have you considered a vintage McIntosh system, perhaps for another room? Perhaps the thrill of the hunt would help scratch that itch a bit, especially if you set some strict guidelines on age and price to be paid? Might be a lark.

Also, if you ever feel like starting a MacCharity for those of us who can't swing modern McIntosh, I wouldn't mind an MC6600 with Tuner. Just a thought. :p

Well, you could always buy a Ford GT - McIntosh stereo was standard. Stewart Schuster of Marvin Electronics in Ft. Worth has the Ford GT that McIntosh used to develop the Ford GT's audio system.

Ivan,
You need to get a house on the west coast, to counter balance the two on the east coast, and then fill that one with McIntosh.

Like that ZZ Top song, "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide"

You could be I'm McIntosh, I'm Nationwide.

Another thought. You could buy a sweet new Harley Road King, and add the Road Tech radio, developed for Harley-Davidson by McIntosh Labs. It utilizes the patented Power Guard system to control distortion. The result is clear, clean music, even at highway speeds. The built-in equalizer circuitry tunes audio output for maximum listening pleasure. Then, when I come down to go riding with you, there will be music added to the sweet exhust tones.

When I hit 40 I went through my second puberty... I had 2 harley's a 100 anniversary softail deluxe and a 100 anniversary v-rod. I have to say I always had fun on my motorcycle, something I can not say about playing golf. My wife gave me such a hard time about riding.. I think she was afraid I'd get hurt or worse killed . I finally sold them when my 2 son's started to show interest in riding, one is in college now ( I make him drive a heavy SUV ) and the other is in high school. Anyway, seeing that picture reminds me of how much fun it was riding where I live, lots of windy country roads. Now I ride these roads with my 1 "asspower" bicycle, not the same.

David.......I understand. Peddling is not the same as twisting the throttle, and feeling serious horsepower at your command. As far as being hurt or killed, a bicycle is equally dangerous on the roads, maybe even more so. One can die in an automobile, too. The false sense of security inside an automobile is not insurance from injury or death. It is all about paying attention to what you are doing, being prepared for the unexpected, and having the skills necessary to maintain control. Failure to do those things on a bicycle, or while driving an automobile can result in injury or death just as quickly as on a motorcycle. You can be run over walking in a WalMart parking lot if you're not careful. My point is, if you spend your life worrying about all the unknowns, you may as well stay inside behind locked doors. Then all that's left to worry about are tornados, fire, falling airplanes, power going out, water not coming out of the faucets..............LOL. You get the picture. 99% of what you worry about never comes true anyway. Life is for living. It is not a spectator sport.

I still love motorcycles but I've given them up. On the one hand Dan is right, if you worry about everything, life will pass you by in a hurry. On the other, limiting your risk somewhat is also not a bad idea. Russian roulette sounds like a fun game but.... :smoke:
