So I'm scavenging some Iron off of some old Hammond H-100 organ amps. They look pretty beefy in the pictures. It appears that they have 2, 5volt windings for 5ar4's or GZ32's, 2 secondaries in the hundreds of volts (Not sure what they are, but are rectified to ~400v and 300v), and a lower voltage winding that they use for a -24v bias. Anybody got any firm specs on these? What I'd really like to know is how much current I can get out of them. Maybe enough for a SE EL84 stereo, or a maybe a 45 or 2a3 SET?

If you had a pair of those organ amps, you would have a nice stereo set-up!

In the matter of two days, I got, for free of course :D, a Hammond M-100 and a Hammond M-3.
I haven't looked up the M-3, but the amp, main power amp looks the blasted same.
The M-100 has a reverb amp in it.....
I know the output transformers on these are sweat. I've used them before to build the Fender 5E3 clones I make.
Crappy thing is, they both work. And they both look greeeeeat cosmetically. So they are in the garage. I haven't gutted them yet.
I feel bad doing that.... But I can't play an organ... So what the hell!

I was going to do the same thing a year ago with an M-103 I found. I got it working however and it now holds a place of honor in our home. I don't play either...save the organ.

I have a pair of new Hammond 1627SE OPT that I hope to someday to be used in a 2A3 SET amp. My problem is I don't have a clue. I do read all threads I see on the matter with hopes that some of the crap thrown against a wall will stick.:scratch2::D
