Damn that is hard to type! There is some new QMS going down for you John Cipolina fans.

Live shows from the 60's.

I am a huge QMS fan. Well only 6-4 and long hair. Not that HUGE.

Love QMS. Saw them live at the Academy of Music back in '70's.

I was scrounging around in storage boxes last month and came across the Happy Trails LP I bought in about 1970-71(ish). Still in pristine playing and cosmetic condition. A lot like reuniting with a long lost friend.

Thanks for the info. Most of their OP LP's are tough to get back to NM. Have lots of doubles.

I saw a release from 11/8/09. Live at the Quarter Note Lounge, NOLA, 7/26/77. Two CD set. Anyone have it? What do ya think?

I'll dig a little more, sounds like eMusic hosed the track list.

Hi ScramMan, I havent heard that 77' show but keep in mind, J.C. will not be on that one. He was either touring with 'Terry and The Pirates' or recording with 'Freelight' during that time.

Thanks for the tip, I'll still check it out to see how it sounds.

I scored their s/t with the original foil cover and groovy art.

The first LP is my favorite. Great, stringy, gritty guitar.

I still spin up QMS with some frequency. I have Happy Trails burned on to my work computer and listened to it in its entirety just last week - trippin' out in the cubicle, as it were.

Yeah, I finally found the original foil, too. That was a fun hunt. Something about that album is just a must have. The memories it brings back, maybe. The song "Gold & Silver" is what trips my trigger.

Can't beat Mona. There are a number of fantastic versions of that song, too. Ever hear the live one on "At The Kabuki Theatre"?

Always liked QMS, ever since my big brother brought home their first album, when it came out. Found a couple of their LPs in recent years, but it's nice to hear they're getting a "second wind", too! Thanks for the heads-up. :thmbsp:

Most all of these have been circulated for many years on the trading vines and more recently on the public domain BT sites that people post to.
This particular one I do not know if I still have it, I would say it is for complete-ists which I am not. Radio broadcast IIRC.
I prefer the Jim Murray stuff and that 1967 Fillmore would have him, 3 dates in early April IIRC are availaible to make that album. Good stuff.
Too bad I never have seen the HALO benefit soundboards, there's crappy audience taped sets that I listened to just cause it is such great stuff.
This is a fun album, it shows up around here for 5 bucks or so when you see one. It is the first time in studio for the three bands.

BTW, J.C. had a massive tape collection which he used to let people make copies of is where most this stuff comes from.

I saw Quicksilver at the Hollywood Palladium when I was 15 and all I remember was the overwhekming mixture of patchouli oil and weed fumes. "Take Another Hit".:D

I'm good with the first 3 LPs or so; not a big fan after Dino took over...
His whiney vocals on "What About Me" don't float my boat at all.....

Big fan of their early stuff, comes up on the playlist every few months. :music:

Plenty of their LPs in circulation / buried in patchouli scented boxes at the next yard sale. It's a challenge finding copies that aren't scratched to hell, but they are out there.

For no particular reason, a few pics. Hey, it's Monday, it's raining, & I'm bored. :D

Yep, I've been scrounging for an original Capitol Rainbow version of the 1st LP like Carl posted with a nice foil cover for years.

I found a picture of my copy from the Vinyl spin list thread - best copy I have, cover has ring wear but at least it wasn't attacked by a cat or mildew like alot them I've seen.
