SA-708 02-04-2009, 09:52 PM All my punk heros are passing away. Lux is survived by his wife and musical partner in The Cramps, Poison Ivy.

Saint Johnny 02-04-2009, 10:00 PM Man, that's too bad. We were just talking about The Cramps in the 'rockabilly' thread.
gearhead 02-04-2009, 10:04 PM Lux would've been happy to know I played "Can Your Pussy Do the Dog" for a girl on our first date in '88 or so.
R.I.P. Lux.
Cool_Manchu 02-04-2009, 10:42 PM This really sucks. I am glad I got to see them back in the day. I will play some Cramps tonight to honor the loss of a legend.
Mystic 02-05-2009, 09:21 AM ...We were just talking about The Cramps in the 'rockabilly' thread.
Talk about timing.
Well, this is sad news and as SA-78 pointed out earlier, the punkers aren't shaping up to be a particularly longevous lot.
Rest is peace, Lux.
spartanmanor 02-05-2009, 09:23 AM Not a lot of news on this one yet but it is a sad day indeed for Cramp fans.

tentoze 02-05-2009, 10:44 AM I merged the 2 threads into one.
spartanmanor 02-05-2009, 10:50 AM Really fun band to see live.
RIP.
I wish I had. My wife saw them at the original State theater before it was remodeled.
KeninDC 02-05-2009, 11:19 AM Saw 'em at GW about 15 years ago. Lux spent some time with his hand down his pants, dryhumped the floor, and finally stripped down to a G-string.
All good fun.
I have heard that at some concerts he would stick a chicken leg down his pants, take it out and take a bite out of it, throw it into the crowd, and have it thrown back with more bites out of it. This could be an urban legend, of course, but it is certainly consistent with his method of showmanship.
treserious 02-05-2009, 01:14 PM boo-urns.
just read about it here

grillebilly 02-05-2009, 10:14 PM Sorry to hear the news.
elgato8905 02-06-2009, 12:13 AM I've been watching the Cramps on youtube and listening to my Cramps albums all day. I can't believe Lux isn't getting more love around here. He truly was an original, one of a kind, iconic figure in rock-n-roll. There will never be another like him.

thedelihaus 02-06-2009, 05:38 AM Gahhhhhhhh! I'm rattled! Just heard the news....
So sad- always enjoyed the Cramps. Always bought the records in the cherry red vinyl for some reason- just seemed fitting....
A favorite performer I'll greatly miss...
