Beatnik 02-05-2009, 11:06 PM I just walked in the door with these lp's
Dave Brubeck
Gone With The Wind
My Favorite Things
Time Out
Time Further Out
Time In
Time Changes
Summer Sessions
The Last Set at Newport
Max Roach
Again Volume Two
The Louie Belson Explosion
Al Dimeola
Land of the Midnight Sun

All in sleeves and in excelent condition. There were to many to choose from for a change. Nice ones are getting hard to come by around here, yesterday I thought I did good when I grabbed these.
Woodstock (looks like it was never played)
Rolling Stones: Big Hits (mono), Aftermath (mono)
Johnny Rivers: Realization
elcoholic 02-05-2009, 11:28 PM Nice bunch of Brubeck, I have a few of those and they're all good. I had a nice eclectic VG or better LP haul from GW today:
Supertramp - Crime of the Century
Elton John - Rock of the Westies
Marshall Tucker Band - Carolina Dreams
Steely Dan - Katy Lied
Tom Petty - Hard Promises (NM with original cellophane )
Keith Jarrett - The Koln Concert
Joe Jackson - Night and Day
Paul Horn - A Special Edition
Electric Light Orchestra - II
Beatnik 02-06-2009, 04:41 AM Yeah, rock is normally the stuff I look for, that's a great haul !
I couldn't pass up all that Brubeck. These came from SA here, they were 2 bucks a piece or I'd have gotten more.
caddisgeek 02-06-2009, 05:09 AM Nice haul, mono Aftermath would be worth a pretty penny, and as for the Brubeck stuff you did real well, Time Out is the One everyone has, but Time Further Out is every bit as good
davidk5 02-06-2009, 10:35 PM very nice stuff!! i have to get some brubeck on vinyl myself .

dokblues 02-07-2009, 05:50 PM Nice Haul! All that Brubeck is very good. And the Woodstock and the Stones are very cool. Al Dimeola`s are always a good bet.

Yep, you win ! I don't often get to that side of town, but just happened to be passing Inwood and you know how that works.
I don't know valuable from not, I buy what I will listen to. :music: I could only afford so much at 2 bucks a pop.
rsfmotoman 02-07-2009, 07:07 PM Nice!
I absolutely love the Gone with the Wind album, I recently picked up a copy and it sounds great.
Enjoy.

I picked up a total of 72 LPs yesterday and today (when I went back for more of that GREAT jazz guitar). But I KNEW somebody beat me!

sfox52 02-07-2009, 07:43 PM It seems that the thrifts in our area are getting $3 & more for used vinyl. Todays haul=
Robin Trower, Twice Removed from Yesterday (completes my 70's Trower collection.)
Be Bop Deluxe- Modern Music.
Leo Kotke- Guitar Music ( I can't pass on his stuff!)
The Motels- All Four One
Dixie Dregs-What If
Crowded House- Crowded House
Simple Minds- Once Upon a Time
Kate Bush- Hounds of Love ( I need more KB on vinyl!)
I'm down $27.. not bad!
Beatnik 02-07-2009, 08:59 PM It's upredictable around here, depends on which ones you hit. Picked up some excellent condition Boston, Journey, Heart etc for my daughter yesterday at 40 cents each. Like that Dregs stuff !

ChaChing !
I didn't show up until 8:30 Thurs night, who knows what was there ? Being a drummer, I couldn't pass on Morello, Dawson, Roach or Bellson, that is until I hit my cash limit.
Todays find was a Realistic stereo test record ($1), Marantz reciever ($5) and, not music related unless cleaning the cave floor counts, an Oreck XL vacuum ($20). Hopefully that Oreck will save me, my wife tears up those things up in a few months and parts are available for these.
jimdandy 02-07-2009, 09:20 PM My local public radio station had their annual vinyl sale: $1 for any record. I walked away with seven albums but these were the best three:
Beatles Live at Hollywood Bowl
Time Out (Brubeck) -- I already have this, but can't go wrong for $1.
Brubeck's Greatest Hits
All in great condition. Wish I woulda had more than $7 on me.
