I decided to pick up the Pioneer QX-747 I saw the other day burried on a shelf at a thrift.
The guy told me 20 bucks.
I was taking a closer look and one of the pot shafts was bent.
The guy started to pull on it when I said "don't pull on it or it will......" SNAP! off in the guys hand it went. He then turned to me and said how about $8.00?

I have a QX-8000A on the shelf that is a basket case. The pots may be the same, so I will try and swap em and get the 747 looking like new.

I am a Pioneer Quad nut and the QX 8000 and QX 747 are totally different. I have a trashed QX 949 chassis and also an 8000. Which pot broke? Already sent out one bass pot to Pioneer727. Still have a bass pot and two trebles. If the 8000 is fixable dont trash it. You are welcome to parts to either---no charge. Email me at ericthoben@aol.com. Dont email me here. I forget to check mail on AK. Both are nice units. Sold my working 949 last fall, the 8000 sounds better to me. Got three, and the parts unit.

I found a QX 747 at a swap meet for $10.00...a year or two ago...It works good...just needs a fuse cap! It's in my attic collection ...along with my 7 marantz receivers and various other treasures!! I also have a Sony SQR 8750...MINT for $50, from an overstocked Tube Amp collector. Another I have is a Noresco Quad #??. Sold in Canada, with Philips speakers.

My qx 747 is pulling garage duty. Believe me it can rock the house and the neighborhood with a set of dynaco A-50 speakers.
