He is greatly missed.

Robert "Bob" Nesta Marley OM (February 6, 1945 – May 11, 1981) was a Jamaican musician, singer-songwriter and Rastafarian. He was the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for the ska, rocksteady and reggae bands: The Wailers (1964 – 1974) and Bob Marley & the Wailers (1974 – 1981). Marley remains the most widely known and revered performer of reggae music, and is credited for helping spread Jamaican music to the worldwide audience.

In celebration of Bob Marley's 64th birthday, watch the video of a new rendition of the Marley classic "One Love" as put together by the global musical and multimedia movement Playing for Change.

I just ordered Bob Marley Exodus 30th Anniversary Vinyl Album

Last Friday I went to the House of Blues (Myrtle Beach) and saw the Wailers perform the entire album of Exodus as well as other huge Bob Marley songs. It was one of the best shows I've been too (other than some drunk guy getting his nose broke).

Anybody else a fan of his music or reggae in general?

Bob Marley is one of my alltime favorites.
To me he is the father of Reggae.

Spent many a memorable day in Jamaica
with local friends listening to him
and exploring that mystical island.

Passed by his studio on Hope Road often.
His music brings back many great emotions.

I can amost smell Jamaica when I hear his music still.

A true Legend........

I went to Jamaica when I was 13 but didn't really get to explore since I was with my parents. I did get to climb Dunns Rivers Falls.

I hope to go back and explore more.

Happy birthday Bob. He was a great song writer and performer who passed too early in life. My favorite Marley album: Natty Dread. Fantastic recording and material. If you want to test your equipment for sonics try this one.
